I wrote this all up and then the webpage deleted it. Now I'll have to type it all again. :/ Also, I'll explain about the history of these dreams at the end of the story. Sorry in advance that it's a long post. I'd love to hear some thoughts about this since it's a reoccurring theme. I used a ritual last night to promote psychic dreams and this came up.
So I had a very unusual dream last night.
I was in a bazaar full of humans, therians, and otherkins roaming about. The setting was very medieval which made me think that I was actually inside the distant past and interacting with it. Anyhow, I'm walking around and I see three human boys making fun of a mermaid kin girl for being "unnatural" and "non-human". So I went up to the boys, told them off, and they left the girl alone. The girl, whose name I can't recall, was probably around 13 or 14 years old. She was so happy that I stood up to her that she wanted to tell her guildmaster about the human who saved the mermaid kin. I'm promptly dragged away to meet the guildmaster she's talking about.
At the far end of the bazaar, a female red dragonkin named Elissa is running a small storage shop. Many different types of kins are surrounding the store, listening to her telling a story. We got there right at the end of it and the girl who dragged me there begins to tell Elissa about me and what I've done to help her out. Elissa gives me an intrigued look then studies me a bit. All the kin around her glare at me, as if I'm going to say or do something bad, but then the atmosphere lightens up as Elissa giggles. "You're one of the kin too, huh?" she asks. Before I can reply, she taps my head and cat ears and a cat tail appear! The small crowd laughs at this.
The mermaid kin talks Elissa into showing me the Kin Guild. The Kin Guild is an extraordinary city that lives underneath the bazaar where all types of kin mingle and live in. They also have classes ranging from human and kin history from shifting and battle strategies, so you can imagine many age groups go in and are raised there.
The entrance to the guild was underneath Elissa's shop; it was a large dome on the inside. The top of the dome is made of a sturdy glass with pictures of flying fish and winged whales swimming in the clouds on the top. It reminded me of the Wind Fish from the Legend of Zelda games. Underneath that were some angel drawings that wrapped around the lower ends of glass. The hallways were full of bronze Roman columns and the halls were bronze with gilded golden leaf designs. The floor had a glittery bronze scale-like pattern going on and had red carpets near the steps of the dome.
While walking down a stairway, an explosion occurs in the direction I was headed. Kins of all types stampede towards me and run me over. I heard a woman give out a bloody scream of murder. Something big was happening and I make a mad dash back to where I was and hide behind one of the pillars to assess the situation. A large knight (about 10-12ft tall) came out of the blue; he wore red armor from head to toe and wore a black chainmail underneath. His eyes were covered by the helmet he was wearing. He was wielding a European broadsword and swinging it at innocent people, killing them with ease while walking slowly ahead towards my direction. Something within me was stirring.
Elissa was hiding behind another pillar from the left of me, now garbed with golden armor and using a bow and arrow. I looked to her and whispered that we need to work together to hold this knight off to allow the rest of the people to run away. She placed a golden sword on the floor and slides towards my way. The moment I picked it up, we ran out of hiding to attack the armored knight. Elissa and I combined our attacks with not a single dent on the armor of this giant knight. Angry, the knight puts his sword away and uses his giant fists to punch Elissa into a pillar in the back of the building. I looked back to see a gaping hold in her stomach and she was coughing up blood. She died after choking on her own blood. It was vivid and gruesome. I tried to hold back tears at this point of the dream.
So I look back the knight with a look of disgust and distraught. This thing had killed dozens of innocent people for no apparent reason, so I raise my fists to punch it with no success. He grabs both of my arms with one hand and then lifts me. For the first time in the dream, I'm afraid.
The knight sudden speaks to me and says, "The evil within you shall be eliminated," as he cuts me down with his sword. Instead of being cut in two though, his sword cuts into me. I no longer see any kin features on my body and at this point I'm very, very confused. He explains how the kins of our world need to be oppressed because the divine wishes it so. I drop to my knees after he lets me go because I can't process everything that is happening, so the knight kneels down to me and puts a hand on my head. A spiraling energy surrounds me and it sucks in the blood of the dead victims, hardening my skin into a magenta colored armor like the knight has.
I feel like something primordial has taken over me in that moment. It felt raw. It felt good. But while my head screams that this was wrong, my body and soul screamed that this felt right. I became one of the armored knights. The armor felt natural. The armor felt like it has always been a part of me. A part of me that's awakened.
And my body moved on its own for the remainder of the dream to assist the knight.
~~~
This isn't the first time I've had dreams about me getting this armor. But it's the first dream where someone interacted with me while I had the armor on. In previous dreams, the armor has senselessly killed innocent people who've appeared in my line of sight. I would lose control of my body and it would be fueled my rage and anger. In one dream, a chorus of angels appeared to stop me and a seraphim angel descended to give me control of the armor. Why didn't they kill instead of helping me manage this form? I have no idea. Since then, I've been occasionally seeing the armor in dreams whenever I see blood.
Wow, what an intense dream. As you're searching for your kin identity, it sounds like you've got something solid to work with. Let's pick it apart a bit.
I should make the disclaimer that there are so many realities and your reality may be totally different from mine. That said, the first part of the dream didn't personally give me any "tingles" like yes this is something true, while the last part did give me some. Maybe other people will differ or maybe I just haven't come across a kin market like that before. It sounds very beautiful.
If it were my dream, I'd say the first part was mostly metaphorical, or my mind regurgitating all the cool things I've read about during the day.
So the second part of the dream, when the knight shows up and things get violent. Could still be metaphor but I started to get more of a feeling like this is a vital part of your memories of the past. Maybe mixed in with the metaphor. What really matters is your feelings though. How did you feel at each part of your dream?
Thanks for the reply! Yeah, I honestly felt like the dream was more symbolic than anything. The only thing I'm certain of is this suit of armor that appears in my dreams and attempts to take control of my physical body. It doesn't feel like it's possessing me, more like it's acting out to protect me. I'm not sure if it's something infernal or angelic or anything alive. But the dreams that I have with it are typically violent. So it's possible that this so called armor has affected parts of my dream.
I don't recall ever visiting a place like that so I'm highly uncertain of it existing outside my dream. XD
But the knight was wearing the same colored armor I was. I wonder if this figure is part of my memory. Who knows~?
Okay, so a lot of it was probably symbolic. You feel the same way.
Hmm... As for what the armor is... It may be important to note that in a lot of PGs and in scripture, etc., angels are not always good. I remember having many wars with angels. It was always fae and therian-type and other things I can't see clearly... rock people maybe... against the angels. Eventually we all learned how to get along as far as I remember, but it didn't come easy...
